Artist’s Statement
“I paint in an impressionist style blended with elements of abstraction, exploring landscapes, animals, people, and occasionally non-representational subjects. My work is deeply inspired by the outdoors—fields, skies, water scenes, animals, country sporting events and other moments which capture my imagination and fuel my creative process.
When selecting a scene to paint, I am drawn primarily to color, form, and atmosphere. These elements enable me to capture and express the profound emotion and vibrant energy I observe in the natural world, especially during dynamic moments such as country sports. I am particularly inspired by vast landscapes with expansive skies and dramatic lighting, where the interplay of light and shadow creates a sense of depth and mood.My style blends impressionism with elements of abstraction, intentionally avoiding super-realism. I strive to convey the essence of each scene through minimal brushstrokes and thoughtful use of color, emphasizing feeling over precise detail. Over time, my work has evolved toward a more representational approach while maintaining a strong impressionistic energy. This balance between spirit and form is central to my art.”
